Be Humble

Following the theme of last week, this week’s  guest writer expands on what it means to be humble. Please share your thoughts if you are led to do so.

…that you may know the saving acts of The LORD

Micah 6:6-8

God’s purpose above all is to forgive His penitent people and heal the land in which He gave them as their own. The overarching theme from The Chronicler notes specific verbiage – as vocabulary – in which we see that the translation reads humble themselves, pray, seek, and turn. This is the standard and baseline for all whom claim to be in relationship with God as The Divine Savior of Souls and Ultimate Provision(s) Maker, as Provider.

This also becomes the consistent carryover theme of Restoration for all of the follower(s) and those who keep the teachings of The Prophets, Ministers, and Disciples of God for all time, from a biblically nuanced thematic. With certainty, to be restored within any relationship, the individual(s) must humble themselves, pray (ask, inquire), seek (actually do something; reparation), and turn (maintain the soluble – doable – solution as solace and a means of balance via unity & succor) because each phrase describes and depicts a different aspect of heartfelt repentance (change for good; armistice).

This is the recurring theme throughout 2 Chronicles. By doing so, the historicity denotes that deliverance from drought, pestilence, and also the return from exile (time out – based on unsatisfactory behavior) was not only available, but more so not applicable until the heart AND actions of the masses changed – as God’s chosen people!

The Chronicler incorporates and embraces restoration of the people as a means to rectify their right – original – relationship [3] with God as The Divine Healer and Caretaker of All. [4] This is when the exiles were returned to their “rightful” place(s) and homes {2 Chronicles 6:38} and also when the invitation to prayer and repentance is sealed (buffered) with the strong – blessed – Assurance of God’s (peaceful) presence and attentiveness within the temple; see 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Simply put, God becomes more involved and attentive when the people of His pasture become more in tune with their hearts, actions, and way(s) of living, especially as they align or are drifting from the standard of God’s care, love, and expectation of penitence [humility] among people (as his ultimate-final creation).

Footnotes/Source:

[3]  The terminology of relationship is vitally important. It involves knowledge internally, externally, and throughout history. Simply put, this means that any relationship claiming God’s Namesake, Blessing, or Favor must align itself seamlessly with the righteousness portrayed throughout the cross covenantal examples noted as pleasing God – The Divine – within the biblical text. This includes personal devotion (as worship), collective assembling (as worship), and most pivotally the practical worship which invites non-believers (those who haven’t been exposed to the pureness and freedom of God’s love) to come to know and LOVE God, based on having met you! A right relationship with God is the crux of faithfulness. See Jeremiah chapter 25-26 (specifically verses 25:3-14 and also Jeremiah 26:1-16).

[4]   In consideration of maintaining or re-connecting (renewing the vows) with God, think of it as a means of pure worship and complete devotion – acceptable to God and received as pure devoutness, consecration, and piety, demonstratively, depicted through the care of others AND the things gifted by God. For instance how the individual takes ownership as care for the land, loved ones, the entrusted care of the disenfranchised within each location, etc., as their own, with a distinctive aim of pleasing God based on knowing the expectation(s) of God and also how the individual has come up short within these necessitated ordinances which exclusively make for peace and peaceableness (see the Fruit(s) – results – of using God’s Spirit, God’s way; Galatians 5, specifically verses 16-21 contrasted with verses 22-26). This illustrates how relationship(s) are fragmented (as inoperable) based on their expectation for advancing the borders of The Kingdom, God’s Way.
