Old-Fashioned Peach Crumble

A wonderful old-fashioned treat enjoyed with vanilla ice cream

Equipment

  • 1 Large Cooking Pot
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 medium bowl for cut peaches
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Wooden spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 4 ripe peaches peeled and cut in to bite size pieces
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. corn starch mixed into 2 Tbsps. cold water
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Crumble Dough

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps. corn starch
  • 3/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup frozen butter

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9-inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
    Method:
    Add cut peaches into a cooking pan. Add in cornstarch in water, sugar, and salt. Let mixture cook down on low heat for about 10 minutes. Add vanilla extract then stir in and set aside to cool down.
    While the filling is cooling, make crumble by adding all dry ingredients to bowl then grate the frozen butter into the dry mix. Once all frozen butter is grated into the dry mix, gently mix butter crumbles into the dry mix. Press 2/3 of the crumble into a paper-lined 9- inch baking dish then place filling on top. Once all filling has been placed into the pan, add remaining crumble on top and bake for 45-55 minutes. It will be brown on top filling will be bubbly oozing from the sides.
